Pasta Dinner: October 7: 4:30pm-6:30pm
The annual Pasta Dinner fundraiser event is back again! The Norwich Public Schools Education Foundation will be holding the event on Monday, October 7, 2019 in partnership with Billy Wilson’s Ageing Still in Norwich, CT from 4:30pm-6:30pm. You can eat at Billy Wilson’s or take out. Your ticket includes: Pasta and sauce, meatballs, garlic bread
soda or water.
Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased through the Foundation’s official website below. Money raised from this event will go directly back to NPS classrooms in support of NPS student achievement and enrichment.

Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week!
The Norwich Public Schools Education Foundation commends all Norwich Public Schools Teachers and Staff for their commitment to and care for each and every NPS student. NPS Teachers and Staff routinely go above and beyond for our NPS students and families. Now you have a way to express your appreciation to NPS Teachers and Staff, past or present. Thank you to the Washington Trust Charitable Foundation, for its generous donation of $1,000 to the Norwich Public Schools Education Foundation. Tim Konikowski, a Norwich resident and Assistant Vice President at Washington Trust, directed the donation to the Norwich Public Schools Education Foundation. We thank both the Washington Trust Charitable Foundation and Tim for their generosity and thoughtfulness. Each and every Norwich Public Schools student will benefit from this investment in the Norwich Public Schools community.
Norwich Public Schools Education Foundation Awards Over $5,800 in Grants
The Norwich Public Schools Education Foundation is pleased to announce it recently awarded a total of over $5,800 in grants to Norwich Public Schools classrooms. The Foundation awarded $2,700 for new books for seven (7) Norwich Public Schools elementary schools and two (2) Early Learning Center libraries. The Foundation then awarded over $3,100 for grants including supporting math concepts and science discoveries in NPS Early Learning Centers; Adding materials and tools to classrooms supporting students with autism; and Munch Madness, a school-wide event supporting health and nutrition education.
The Norwich Public Schools Education Foundation has awarded over $66,600 to Norwich Public Schools classrooms since 2011.

Foundation Awards over $2,300 to Norwich Public School Classrooms
The Norwich Public Schools Education Foundation is pleased to announce it recently awarded over $2,300 in grants to Norwich Public School classrooms. Grants include Inquiry-Based Science Lab Activities curriculum at Kelly MS; Math In Movement curriculum combining math skills and physical education at Veterans Memorial; Independent Learning Stations at Huntington; and “Munch Madness” activities at Moriarty, teaching students about nutrition. The NPS Education Foundation has awarded over $31,000 to NPS classrooms in 5 years. Foundation Awards $4,550 in Grants to Norwich Public Schools
The Norwich Public Schools Education Foundation is pleased to announce it has awarded over $4,550 in its Fall 2015 Grant Cycle for the following grants to Norwich Public School classrooms: 11 Genius OSMO interactive iPad education kits; 19 Algebra I textbooks for Kelly MS students taking high school level Algebra; Sensory materials for students with autism; Various level reading books; Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center visits; Math mentor textbooks; and National Geographic Geography Bee and Traveling Map.
These grants would not be possible without the tremendous support the Foundation received from its Art Auction & Wine Tasting. Your generosity directly supports the Foundation’s mission of maximizing the learning potential of every Norwich Public School student.

NPSEF Awards Nearly $3,000 in Grants to NPS Teachers
The Norwich Public Schools Education Foundation is pleased to announce it has awarded nearly $3,000 in grants to NPS teachers in its 2015 Winter Grant program. Grants awarded include a National Geographic Traveling Map exhibit; Science Materials; a Multi-Sensory Reading & Writing program; Music & Movement equipment; Stability Balls; Dramatic Play materials; an Interactive Online Reading program; White Boards for small group Math Workshops; Materials for Students to Produce Heritage Magazines; Non-Fiction Books; and Sensory Regulation Materials for Autistic Students.
NPSEF has awarded nearly $18,000 in grants to NPS teachers.
Foundation Awards $5,250 in Grants to Norwich Public School Teachers
The Norwich Public Schools Education Foundation is pleased to announce it is awarding $5,250 to Norwich Public School teachers as part of the Foundation’s Fall 2014 Grant Program.
A ‘School Community Grant’, generously funded by an anonymous donor who cares deeply about the Norwich community and Norwich Public Schools will fund a Reading & Writing Workshop Approach to Literacy Instruction to a 6th grade team of teachers at Teachers’ Memorial Middle School. The Foundation is matching this generous grant with one of equal value and will fund a Picture Exchange Communication System for non-verbal students, also at Teachers’ Memorial Middle School.
The Joseph S. Catania Science Grant will fund ‘The Life & Times of the Crayfish’ teaching students at Moriarty Magnet School for Environmental Science about the biology and habitat of the crayfish. The Eileen Catania Literacy Grant will fund a ‘Leveled Library’, which encourages student independence in reader workshops. Mr. Catania was a leading scientist at Pfizer. Mr. Catania and his wife Eileen valued the importance of education and their family’s contributions continue to support educational achievement within Norwich Public Schools.
The Foundation is also awarding five (5) $250 Mini-Grants for a Mystic Aquarium Traveling Teacher Program at Mahan School; a Special Education Library at Huntington School; a Literacy Workshop at Teachers’ Memorial Middle School; E-books at Stanton School; and Speech and Language Resources at Bishop Early Learning Center.
Since its founding in 2011, the Norwich Public Schools Education Foundation has awarded nearly $15,000 in grants to Norwich Public School teachers.
Foundation Awards $1,000 in Mini-Grants to NPS Teachers
The NPS Education Foundation is pleased to announce it is awarding $1,000 in the form of 10 mini-grants to Norwich Public School teachers for proposals related to student achievement. Those proposals include literary tools to facilitate additional small-group instruction; partial support for a Science/Technology/Engineering/Math Expo coordinated by NPS middle school teachers; a document camera to facilitate review and discussions within the classroom; non-fiction texts to encourage additional reading; grammar and vocabulary workbooks; online content focused on geography and social sciences learning; items focused on communication and social skill development; and literature focused on math skill-building.
