The Norwich Public Schools Education Foundation recently awarded 3 grants in support of student achievement and enrichment to NPS classrooms, totaling $2,250. The first grant to a Moriarty classroom will provide high-interest reading material for English language learners. Another grant awarded to all NPS Science 4th and 6th grades will allow students to create DIY stream tables for hands-on, inquiry-based scientific instruction studying various types of erosion on land masses. Under the third grant awarded, to Uncas Elementary School, students will read books about resiliency and overcoming adversity as inspiration for a school mural that NPS staff and students’ families will help plan and create.
The Norwich Public Schools Education Foundation has awarded more than $97,750 to NPS classrooms in support of NPS student achievement and enrichment since its inception in 2011.
